Worship

All our life is worship to the living God.

Prayer

We will remember those who you place on our prayer blog when we meet to pray as a church family.

Don’t forget however that your prayer goes to God – as He knows you so well – even the very hairs of your head are all numbered’  Matthew 10: v30.  Of course it helps if we address God personally in our prayers.  Otherwise its a bit like getting unaddressed junk mail through your letter box.

Lots of people start their prayers with ‘Dear God, Heavenly Father, Dear Lord and Father of mankind, Father in heaven’ but you can choose and greet God in your way.  As we get to know Jesus we understand how he has enabled us to enter into a new relationship with God because of what Jesus has done for us on the cross.  This explains how we can pray through Jesus to God – and many people finish their prayers with something like …’we ask these prayers through Jesus your Son.  Amen’

Praying

A MORNING PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for watching over me and bringing me safely to this new day.
As the gift of this day unfolds help me live it in abundance.
May everything I do or think be as gracious as Jesus himself
Help me to reflect the love of our Father God.
Help me to walk in the fellowship and power of the Holy Spirit.
In the name of Jesus our Saviour, Amen

Fill me again with the living water of your Spirit,
washing away any lingering doubts or worries
and empowering me now for the task ahead.
In the name of Jesus Christ, my Saviour and Lord.
Amen. (Revd David Hoyle)

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the Glory are yours, now and for ever. Amen.

Lord pour your cleansing streams of living water over us

Make the parched deserts of our being spring to life

Refresh us, Renew us

Lord breathe on us afresh now

And we will receive your life.

Lord reach out and touch us and we will receive

O God of life,

Eternity cannot hold you,

Nor can our little words catch

The magnificence of your kindness,

Yet in the space of our small hearts

And in silence

You can come close and repair us. Amen
