Message from Ian

At this time of great sadness, I wish to share just a few thoughts over the next three weeks from Isaiah ch.33  – Daily we are receiving warnings of disasters – economical and environmental, – of aggression, poverty, and hunger. In such times, where did our Queen Elizabeth find encouragement in the Lord?

Let’s turn to Isaiah 33 v.17 to 19. – In the midst of the prophet’s terrible warnings of pending disaster we find these words of promise to the righteous person – the person of humble obedience and of faith (v.15/16). Our Queen Elizabeth was indeed a great woman of faith and humble obedience.

Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that stretches afar. In your thoughts you will ponder the former terror. Where is that chief officer? Where is the one who took the revenue? Where is the officer in charge of the towers? You will see those arrogant people no more, those people of an obscure speech, with their strange, incomprehensible tongue.

That first sentence is so amazing; the queen herself looked forward to that day when she would see the King of kings. We, like the queen, are able to anticipate that day when we also will see, with our own eyes, the King of kings and enter a land that stretches into eternity. – Hallelujah –

Indeed, where is that chief officer of aggression and war? Where is that one who brought such poverty? Where is that officer who built those towers of pride? Where are all those arrogant people who sought to deceive with strange, complicated words? – Hallelujah – we will see them no more.

Our Queen, Elizabeth 2nd, will see with her own eyes the King of kings and rest forever in a land of peace and healing that stretches into eternity – no more pain and suffering. Let us eagerly look forward to that great day of the Lord when all the people of faith in Jesus Christ, through his grace, will see the King of kings and be with him forever.
