Mid-week Bridge 23 July 2025

Thank you to Mark for this week’s MWB

Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. And so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas and Luke, my fellow workers. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.”

Philemon 1:23-25

Aristarchus, mentioned in the New Testament, was a companion of the Apostle Paul and a native of Thessalonica. He is described as a Macedonian and is known for accompanying Paul on his journeys and for being with him during his imprisonment in Rome.

Paul often mentions him in dispatches, showing their close friendship and companionship in the Gospel.

What a privilege it is to have fellow workers in the Gospel. As a team, we’re running a race together.

Someone once said to me, “what’s the main purpose of church?”

I immediately thought about Sunday mornings, worship, sermons and prayer…and whilst these are essential, my friend said “church is there for us to encourage each other”

All through Paul’s letters we see this theme of encouragement, as in this letter to his friend Philemon.

Is there a fellow worker at church we could encourage today?
