Mid-week Bridge from Ian with thanks
1 …Redemption
Rom.3 v.23/24 – All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ.
Many of us struggle with feelings of guilt and failure; we feel alone and inadequate, unable to be open with those who love us. That first statement of Paul’s – All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God – would leave us in a genuine state of rejection and depression – what hope is there? – But Paul continues with that wonderful statement of hope – and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ. – Have we fully grasped the depth of the words Paul uses?
- Justified (made righteous in the sight of God)
- Freely
- By his grace
- Through the redemption
- That came by Jesus Christ
During the next few weeks we will be looking at some of the foundation scriptures which provide us with those statements of faith upon which we build our daily lives in Christ; Bible verses which strengthen us in our understanding of God’s love, compassion and forgiveness; Biblical tools which help us to share our faith with those who are seeking peace with God.
