The Holy Spirit in creation and on into Eternity

Each time we say the Grace together we use a phrase from Phil. ch.2 – – fellowship with the Spirit – – The word fellowship means – ‘A deep, active partnership” – We are invited to fellowship with him,  the Holy Spirit – in ‘a deep, active partnership” – throughout our life in Christ. Eph.4 v.3 tells us, in our fellowship with one another – “To make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.” That working unity of the Holy Spirit and the church is expressed in Rev. Ch.22 v.17 – ‘The Spirit and the bride (the church) say, “Come!” and the one who hears say come;’ – – In the next few weeks I propose we study and discuss what the scriptures teach us about this member of the Trinity – The Holy Spirit. We cannot fellowship with somebody we don’t really know.

In Genesis ch.1 v.1 and 2 We find 2 phrases – In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth – – the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. We see that the Holy Spirit was present in the beginning; in the creation of the heavens and the earth. His work of giving life continues – in Job 33 v.4 – Elihu says – “The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life. –  – This points back to Genesis ch.2 v.7 – – the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. – – The Holy Spirit in the creation of mankind and all living creatures. The Psalmist confirms this in Ps.104 v.30 – – When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.

Isaiah in ch.32 takes us into the future; first describing the destruction to come then giving us that eternal promise (v15 – 17) – till the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, and the desert becomes a fertile field and the fertile field seems like a forest. Justice will dwell in the desert and righteousness live in the fertile field. The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever. – – The life giving power of the Holy Spirit – Forever.

The Holy Spirit was, is and will be present from creation into eternity – and we are invited to fellowship with him, the Holy Spirit – ‘a deep active partnership” – throughout our life in Christ. – – Malachi 3 v6 – I am the LORD and I do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed. – – Heb.13 v.8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.  –

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,

the love of God,

and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.
